It’s been a while since I found a new coffee spot. Thankfully, thanks to my search for Aritzia’s infamous “Super Puff”, I happened to stumble upon A-Ok Café. Located inside of Bloor Street’s Aritzia flagship store, I checked out the instagrammable coffee shop and determined if it’ll make my list of coveted gems in Toronto.
My quest to expand my palette on plant-based food continues in high gear. With the long-term goal of eventually becoming completely plant-based, I realize that taste does not have to be compromised. This weekend, I checked out By Chloe, a new vegan restaurant at Yorkdale Mall. Located in the Restoration Hardware wing, the popular New York City established chain housed a variety of delicious meals crafted by celebrity chef, Chloe Coscarelli. With only 20 locations worldwide (and only 1 in Canada), By Chloe shows that great healthy, eating at an affordable price point can be achieved.
In her 2007 music video for “Don’t Stop the Music”, the original bad gal, Rihanna, entered a convenient only to be taken to a nightclub through a secret passage way. In 2019, I took inspiration from the good girl gone bad and visited Convenience, a fully-functioning convenient store upon entry that transitioned to a restobar. Located on Queen Street West’s Parkdale Neighbourhood, I dragged my best friend, JP, across oblivion to finally experience all the hype.
In the search for Toronto’s hottest brunch spot, I knew I had to visit the Broadview Hotel for their famed Bistro + Bar. The hotel’s casual dining hall has become a popular backdrop for several Toronto-based influencers. With several photos of the bistro’s food and interior constantly on my feed, I decided to check out the Broadview myself to see if I felt any closer to my blogger dreams.
Picture this: it’s 2 in the afternoon and your work day just can’t be any slower. Been there before? I know I have (literally today). One of the perks associated with working in the Financial District is being a few steps away from Toronto’s Entertainment District. With one-of-a-kind restaurants, theatres, bars, and the chicest coffee shops, you’ll definitely find something that suits your fancy. However, before checking out any of those other places, it is imperative that you try Coffee Oysters Champagne. Located on King Street West just off University lies the city’s newest Parisian-inspired hotspot.
With summer break quickly approaching, my friend and I have already made plans to check out some of the newest it-spots in Toronto. Because all of us have a love for food, we always like to try out a new restaurant after a long day of exploring to exhilarate our taste buds. In the heart of the Mink Mile, lies the ever so chic Wish Restaurant. Just steps away from Bloor Subway Station, the restaurant serves gourmet food in an environment that mimics a boutique in the Hamptons.
One of the qualities that I look for in a friend is being unapologetic. Yes, like the name of the 2012 Rihanna record, I like my friends to mean what they say and not have any regrets afterwards. It is something worth getting used to while hanging around with my skwa and probably where my dry sarcastic sense of humour comes from (which a few get, while most think I'm being a jerk). That being said, I went to sorry coffee with my friend Matt, the driest, most sarcastic individual on planet Earth who will be making critically acclaimed movies one day (in which I will be starring in).
