I knew going to Niagara for a weekend getaway meant shooting some fire street style looks. Unfortunately for me, the weather prevented the same treet from being seen which definitely compromised my style. If you do not know, Niagara usually gets the worst snowfall in Southern Ontario. That being said, I had to go back to the drawing board to still look good in the dead cold winter.

Luckily for me, I hit up the Outlet Collection of Niagara. The mall consisted of a few name brands, including Lacoste, Coach Menswear, and Polo Ralph Lauren (a few of my favorites and brands that broke my wallet). There was a lot of sales going on so I definitely could not resist adding some new pieces to my wardrobe. Because it was freezing, I strategized to buy some pieces that I could wear immediately… that way, they could be justified and my guilt for spending wouldn’t be too bad. Right?

One of my favourite purchases was a black Ralph Lauren fleece hoodie. All my friends make fun of me for wearing furry sweaters (think of the popular Uniqlo ones), thus when I saw this one that boasted “Polo” in a preppy athletic font and an American flag patch on the side I knew I had to get it - not to mention, it was an additional 40% off.

I am usually a medium in Ralph Lauren, but i bought a large so I could wear a henley and a waffle crew neck underneath. These layers were mandatory since the temperature was -20 degrees that weekend. My final layer consisted of my Canada Goose parka which provided ultimate warmth during my stay. I topped everything off with my favorite dark rinsed skinny jeans and white Common Project sneakers.

I usually love the juxtaposition with bulky pieces on top and sleeker pieces on the bottom. The sneakers paired with the thick layers up top were a nice way to achieve the athleisure look perfect for a weekend getaway. Lastly, I wore my leather camera strap as an accessory to add a statement to a neutral, dark outfit. I notice that leather pieces worn crossbody have been a huge trend in menswear so I had to incorporate that to my look as well.
