My Top Scents for the Summer

I don’t know about you, but I like to keep it smelling fresh in the summer. I work at a mall an hour and a half a way and all that commuting, waiting for buses, or even being trapped in a hot bus with 50 people does not leave a good scent when starting my shift. That being said, I like keeping on top with my personal hygiene and that starts with smelling good. I have tried plenty of scents over the past summers and I’m going to share my top favourite colognes that will complement the whereabouts of summer vacation.

Jake by Hollister

For me, this is the ultimate scent that encapsulates that summertime feeling. From the original Southern California inspired brand, Jake is a musky everyday scent that smells good upon first spray, but smells even better after a couple of hours. With hints of citrus and woods, Hollister’s main fragrance does a great job helping guys smell like a luxurious beach shack. Available in a cologne and a body spray, this is the beginners way to go when finding your summer scent.

Wood Sage and Sea Salt by Jo Malone

Obviously, the Queen of Fragrances has made the list. If you have not heard of Jo Malone, the company is best known for their multiple fragrances that are made from the finest ingredients around. They company describes this fragrance as lived, spirited, and totally joyful - all the things you want for the summer. It perfectly blends the ruggedness of sage with the chill aspects of the sea. Available as a cologne, body wash, moisturizer, Malone is ready to make your summer more vibrant.

Big Pony (Green) by Ralph Lauren

Consider this the intermediate step up from Jake. Inspired by Lauren’s iconic polo shirt, this particular scent, out of the entire Big Pony collection calls for adventure and mischief. Containing hints of mint and ginger, a single spray will make it seem like you freshly stepped out of the shower. Not only does the scent calls for new experiences, but the fact that it comes with portable speakers and a customizable bottle just make it even more of a fragrance that every man should own.

Virgin Island Water by Creed

If the perfume industry was a family, Creed would be the King married to Jo Malone. Creed is the ultimate house of fine fragrance. Creed’s Virgin Island Water was released last year and just like the name, takes you to paradise. One of my favourite qualities of all their scents is that it is oil based meaning that it will last longer (even up to days). With notes of Jamaican lime, hibiscus, and tropical wood, this fragrance will not disappoint.

Smell good this summer.

Candidly,

Jonah
