Now that January slowly comes to an end, I think it is appropriate to list the items that have powered me through a crazy month. Can’t lie, January has been filled with many blessings. From connecting with fellow creatives to starting my dream job, I cannot wait to see what the rest of the year has in store. That being said, I am more than confident these following products will be of tremendous value in the upcoming months.
AirPods Pocket
by Coach
Outlet Price: $30
For some reason, towards the latter end of 2019, I have misplaced my AirPods on many occasions. Besides their expensive cost, my frustration stemmed from the idea that I won’t have music to set the tone for my day. Enclosed in a yellow leather case, my AirPods have become more visible and secure. The pocket has a magnetic flap closure, an opening on the bottom for charging and a chain that can be attached to bags to elevate various outfits.
Lorem
by Spotify
On the topic of music, I have recently been exploring my Spotify’s Discover Page and stumbled upon Lorem, a playlist that complies the latest bops from upcoming indie-pop artists. If you are a fan of laidback tunes and artists like Caroline Polachek, Ryan Beatty, Frank Ocean, Gus Dapperton or Clairo, this playlist is perfect. Updated every month, you can always expect to discover new artists and new favourite songs.
MLN70 Nylon Sneakers
by Prada
Retail Price: $350
After owning the black and yellow iteration for several months, I had to add another to my collection. When the navy version was reduced by 75% at Nordstrom, it was love at first sight. Extremely comfortable with an elevated heel for extra height, I loved how the shoe boasted a retro silhouette made with signature Prada nylon, but added a modern feel with the house’s updated motocross logo.
THE Super Puff Vest
by Aritzia
Retail Price: $125-$175
2019 marks the year Aritzia dropped their first menswear piece, “Mr. Super Puff”. The jacket’s glossy finish and ultimate warmth prompted me to purchase the vest as a transitional piece for spring. A perfect layer for heading to the gym and mall-walking, I highly recommend this piece. Due to extreme popularity, the collection is currently on back order until June, but most stores currently have a decent selection at reduced prices.
Lightroom
by Adobe
Free download with in-app purchases
Lightroom has helped add an extra pop to my photos. Unlike VSCO which provides a set of presets, Lightroom users must create their own filters which promotes extreme creative freedom. There are many easy tutorials online to create the ideal preset. One feature that I found remarkable was that users can adjust each colour individually in a photo, something that is not available on VSCO. The app is free so I suggest downloading and experimenting on a few photos.
I hope you enjoy my January Faves as much as I did. As dramatic as it sounds, these products have helped set the tone for the year ahead. Speaking of, what have been some of your fave items that could be in my February Faves list? I’m always on the hunt for new products to try out! Feel free to DM me if you have any questions regarding my list!
Candidly,
Jonah
